This sailing session is open to any Scout, Explorer Scout and Explorer Sea Scout.

We can only take a maximum of 6 Scout age participants.

Sailing will be based at Largs Sailing Club at Largs Marina, using the 29th Glasgow Scout Group's fleet of dinghies and safety boats. The session is led under the instruction of one of the Group's RYA Senior Dinghy Instructors with the assistance of other RYA Instructors and leaders.

The Group has a selection of boats available for use which cater for all skill levels.

There are 12 spaces available each day and we have the following boats available for use: 2 Wayfarers (three person boats – beginners), 6 toppers (single hander – beginner/intermediate, wetsuit required (we have a few to lend), 3 RS Feva XL (two person boats – intermediate) and an RS500 (two person boat – advanced). Due to the number of sailing instructors available we generally will only be able to take a maximum of 3 beginners per day.

Don’t worry if you don’t know how to sail, we are here to teach you!

The cost for sailing is £15 per day, please pay on the day.

This is a contribution towards providing transport, safety cover and the insurance and maintenance of the equipment.

If you have any questions please email John at explorerseascouts@29thglasgow.org.uk

This activity is weather dependent and could change at the last minute, where possible we will contact you to let you know of any changes.
