29th Glasgow Scout Group Duck Race 2017

Terms and Conditions

  1. The lottery (Duck Race) will take place on Sunday, 18th June 2017 at Pinkston Watersports, 75 North Canal Bank Street, Glasgow G4 9XP.
  2. The lottery is operated by 29th Glasgow Scout Group, (The Group) 147 Mossgiel Road, Glasgow, G43 2BY.
  3. Profits shall be for the sole benefit of The Group.
  4. The Race Controller has responsibility for declaring winning numbers and his or her decision shall be final.
  5. Standard tickets cost £2 each and are available to any UK resident over the age of 16. Young members may put their name on a ticket with the support of a parent or other person over the age of 16.
  6. Only holders of fully paid tickets may take part in the lottery. Payment must be received by 5:00pm on Friday, 16th June, 2017 for a ticket to qualify. Late payments will be considered to be a donation.
  7. The Group accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged tickets or for tickets that have become illegible preventing prize-winners from being identified.
  8. Winners will be ticket holders whose number matches one of the first three ducks retrieved by event volunteers working at the finish line.
  9. The Group accepts no liability for any technical failure or event that might disrupt the lottery or prevent it from taking place.
  10. If the event is unable to take place for any reason the Race Controller will ask three randomly drawn ticket holders to select three numbered counterfoil stubs from a hat to determine the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.
  11. Winning numbers shall be published immediately after the race and will appear on the Group website and Facebook page. A list of winning numbers can also be obtained by writing to the address shown in (2) above and enclosing a stamped addressed envelope.
  12. Prizes are: 1st £150, 2nd £70, 3rd £30.
  13. Prize money shall be paid to the winning ticket holders on confirmation of a fully paid ticket. Prizes may be collected on the day of the race, by contacting Race Control. Winning ticket holders who were unable to attend the event will be contacted by the organiser to arrange payment, providing contact details are available and legible. Winning ticket holders who have not been contacted within fourteen days from the date of the race should write to The Duck Race Controller at the address shown in (2) above, giving their name and address and enclosing the winning ticket.
  14. If the organiser is unable to contact a prize winner and the prize remains unclaimed for forty five days then the prize will be deemed a donation to the Group.
  15. By purchasing a ticket the prize winner agrees to have their name published should they win.
  16. The organiser reserves the right to disqualify any entry at their absolute discretion.
